I’m so happy you’ve found me again and that you realize the voice in your head is just that — a voice. A voice that likes to tell you you’re not good enough. That you are a bad mom. That you have screwed up. That everyone else has it figured out and they are better than you. That you are not deserving. A voice that makes you question everything and applauds you for nothing.
I’m happy that now you can recognize this voice and realize it is not you and it does not define who you are. It is just a voice.
I’m not going to lie, there were times when I was convinced we wouldn’t make it…when we were so blue and hopeless it seemed unbearable. Times when you were lost because you lost sight of me and, instead, listened to the voice.
I’m proud you fought through those times – even though it was difficult. Even though it felt like two steps forward, one giant step back, you remained convinced there was a better way and you fought for it. And, in doing that, you’ve found me again. And here we are – you are you again. The fire is back in your belly, the spark is back in your eye and the joy is back in your heart. And you know what’s even better? The long journey has made you even brighter than before.
I want you to always remember that you are enough. You matter. You make a difference because you are you. Never let the voice convince you otherwise.
I look forward to the great things to come.
